EuroBasket Pro Jayhawks Weekly Update

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Jayhawks alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Joel Embiid (7'0''-C-94, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) led Philadelphia 76ers to a victory over the New York Knicks (11-47) 126-111 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Embiid had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 34 minutes. The Philadelphia 76ers have a solid 37-21 record this season. It's Embiid's fifth year with the team. Embiid has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 27.3ppg, 13.5rpg, 3.5apg and 1.9bpg in 54 games he played so far.

   #2. Kelly Oubre (6'7''-G/F-95, graduated '15, plays in the NBA) could not help the Phoenix Suns (11-48) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Oubre's very good performance the Phoenix Suns (11-48) were crushed 134-107 at home by the Los Angeles Clippers. He was the top scorer with 28 points. Oubre also added 5 rebounds. This season Oubre has very high stats. He averages 15.4ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg.

   #3. Cliff Alexander (6'9''-F/C-95, graduated '15, currently in Germany) contributed to a 1-point Brose Baskets Bamberg's victory against the 13th-ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (7-11) 74-73 in the German BBL on Wednesday night. Alexander scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. Brose Baskets Bamberg (14-5) is placed fifth in the BBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Alexander averages 8.5ppg and 5.5rpg in 17 games.

   #4. Marcus Morris (6'9''-F-89, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to a 3-point Boston Celtics' victory against the Philadelphia 76ers (37-21) 112-109 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Morris recorded 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The Boston Celtics have a solid 37-21 record this season. This year Morris has very high stats. He averages 14.5ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.4apg.

   #5. Thomas Robinson (6'10''-PF-91, graduated '12, plays in China) was not able to help Beijing Dragons (8-32) in their last game. Despite Robinson's very good performance the bottom-ranked Beijing Dragons were badly defeated 117-99 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#8) Golden Stars. He had a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 19 rebounds. Robinson also added 4 assists in 36 minutes. It was Beijing Dragons' 15th consecutive loss in a row. It's Robinson's first season with the team. He has very impressive stats this year 22.0ppg, 14.0rpg, 2.4apg and 1.9spg in 24 games.

   #6. Tarik Black (6'9''-F-91, graduated '14, currently in Israel) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Bnei Hasharon 88-70 in the Israeli Winner League on Sunday night. He scored 7 points. This season Black averages 9.0ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1bpg.

   #7. Hunter Mickelson (6'10''-F-92, graduated '16, plays pro in Latvia) was the major contributor in Rapla's victory against the closely-ranked TLU/Kalev 86-83 in the Latvian LatEstBL in Thursday night's game. Mickelson recorded 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 28 minutes. He has relatively good stats this year 14.5ppg, 7.6rpg, 1.4bpg and 1.3spg in 20 games.

   #8. Cheick Diallo (6'9''-C/F-96, graduated '16, plays in the NBA) contributed to a New Orleans Pelicans' victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder 131-122 in the NBA last Thursday. He scored 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season Diallo averages 4.5ppg and 3.9rpg.

   #9. Josh Jackson (6'8''-G-97, graduated '17, currently in the NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kelly Oubre and both played together in the last NBA game. Jackson was not able to secure a victory for the Phoenix Suns in their game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He scored 8 points in 15 minutes. His team were crushed by 27 points 134-107 in the NBA. Jackson has very impressive stats this year 11.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 2.3apg in 59 games.

   #10. Wayne Selden (6'5''-SF-94, graduated '16, plays pro in the NBA) helped Chicago Bulls win their game against the Memphis Grizzlies 122-110 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. He scored 6 points. Selden has relatively good stats this season 7.2ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.5apg.
