We bring you last week's top former Wolfpack players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Dennis Smith Jr. (6'3''-G-97, graduated '17, plays pro in the NBA) led New York Knicks to a victory over the Atlanta Hawks (19-39) 106-91 in the NBA on Thursday night.
He was MVP of the game. Smith Jr. scored 19 points and added 7 passes in 32 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. The New York Knicks have rather weak 11-47 record this season.
It was his team's first victory after eighteen consecutive loses.
Smith Jr. has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 17.0ppg, 2.7rpg, 6.0apg and 1.7spg.
#2. Thomas De Thaey (6'8''-F-91, graduated '13, plays in Portugal) contributed to Oliveirense's victory against the sixth-ranked Benfica (8-9) 92-82 in the Portuguese LPB in Saturday night's game.
De Thaey had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 17 rebounds.
U.D. Oliveirense (17-1) is placed first in the LPB.
It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
De Thaey has very impressive stats this year 15.4ppg, 8.4rpg and 1.3apg in 18 games he played so far.
#3. Lorenzo Brown (6'5''-G-90, graduated '13, currently in China) was the major contributor in a Guangzhou Long-Lions' victory against the 14th-ranked Brave Dragons (14-26) 136-126 in the Chinese CBA last Thursday.
He scored 28 points (!!!), grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes.
Guangzhou Long-Lions (21-19) are placed ninth in the CBA.
This season Brown has very high stats. He averages 22.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg.
#4. Trevor Lacey (6'2''-SG-91, graduated '16, plays pro in Russia) contributed to Lokomotiv's victory against the seventh-ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (8-8) 78-71 in the VTB United League on Friday night.
He scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Lokomotiv Kuban (12-5) is placed third in the VTB United League.
There are only three games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This year Lacey averages 5.3ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.1apg in 12 games.
#5. Richard Howell (6'8''-C/F-90, graduated '13, plays in Israel) contributed to a Hapoel SP Tel-Aviv's victory against the fifth-ranked Rishon (9-9) 78-64 in the Israeli Winner League in Sunday night's game.
Howell scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 30 minutes.
Hapoel SP Tel-Aviv (7-11) is placed tenth in the Winner League.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important.
This season Howell has very high stats. He averages 15.5ppg, 7.9rpg and 3.3apg.
Howell is a naturalized Israeli.
#6. Experienced Courtney Fells (6'6''-F/G-86, graduated '09, currently in Argentina), who plays in the Argentinian La Liga could not help Quimsa to beat La Union.
Fells recorded only 4 points.
His team lost 74-83.
This year Fells averages 9.1ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.4apg and 1.2spg in 13 games.
#7. Lennard Freeman (6'8''-F-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Turkey) was not able to help Final Spor (7-12) in their game last Saturday. Despite Freeman's good performance Final Spor was defeated 73-61 on the road by the higher-ranked Manisa (#9).
He was the second best scorer with 10 points. Freeman also added 9 rebounds in 37 minutes.
This season Freeman has very high stats. He averages 15.6ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1bpg.
#8. Anthony Barber (6'2''-PG-94, graduated '16, plays in the NBA G League) was not able to secure a victory for the Greensboro Swarm in their game against the Grand Rapids Drive in the NBA G League.
He recorded 9 points.
His team lost 96-104 in the NBA G League.
Barber has relatively good stats this year 10.7ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.0apg in 25 games.
#9. Desmond Lee (6'4''-G-90, graduated '15, currently in Canada), who plays in the NBL Canada couldn't help the St. John's Edge (17-10) in their game last Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the St. John's Edge was edged 94-91 in Saint John by the lower-ranked Riptide.
Lee was the second best scorer with 21 points. He also added 6 rebounds in 33 minutes.
Lee has relatively good stats this season 10.7ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.0apg.
#10. Alex Johnson (5'10''-PG-88, graduated '12, plays pro in Canada) helped London Lightning win their game against the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans 115-104 in the NBL Canada on Sunday night.
He scored 14 points.
Johnson has relatively good stats this year 10.7ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.0apg in 25 games.
