Terriers Repeat; Wofford Heads to Big Dance AgainCHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - After dropping both regular season matchups, the Wofford Terriers used a strong second half to surge past the College of Charleston Cougars, 77-67, and repeat as the Southern Conference Men's Basketball Tournament champions. Wofford relied on clutch free throw shooting and accurate shooting from behind the arc in the second half to separate itself from the Cougars in a tightly contested game. After missing all five three-point shots in the first half, Wofford went a perfect 3-for-3 from long range the rest of the game. The Terriers also sank 57.1 percent (16-for-28) of his second half shots, including a stretch where they scored on seven straight possessions. Cameron Rundles (6'1''-G-88) three-pointer with 9:49 remaining in the game gave Wofford the 54-52 lead and the Terriers would never trail for the remainder of the game. The SoCon regular season Player of the Year Andrew Goudelock (6'2''-G-88) picked up his fourth foul with eight minutes remaining with Charleston trailing 54-53. However, he spent less than a minute on the bench after Wofford scored the game's next five points. The Cougars got within three points at 67-64, but the tournament's Most Outstanding Player Noah Dahlman (6'6''-F-89) scored six in a row to stretch the lead to nine, and Wofford made its free throws down the stretch to secure its second straight NCAA berth. Leading the way for Wofford were Cameron Rundles with 21 points, while Dalhman scored 20 with nine boards. Jamar Diggs (6'2''-F-88) added another 17 for the Terriers. In a closely fought first half that featured six ties and seven lead changes, Charleston used a 7-3 run to close out play to take a 32-28 lead at the break. The duo of Monroe and Goudelock combined to score 25 of Charleston's 32 first half points with 14 and 11, respectively. Wofford shot 91.7 percent (22-for-24) from the charity stripe while Charleston only made 65 percent (13-20) from the line Charleston (24-10) put together a strong performance behind Goudelock's 25 points despite being in foul trouble throughout the game. Donavan Monroe (6'3''-G) contributed with 19 for the Cougars along with Antwaine Wiggins (6'7''-F-88)' 12.
