Princeton Claims Inaugural Ivy League Tournement Championship - Mar 14, 2017

Princeton's remarkable undefeated run through the Ivy League gauntlet has landed it back in the NCAA Tournament.
The Tigers punched their ticket the Big Dance by beating Yale, 71-59, in the inaugural Ivy League Tournament Championship game on Sunday afternoon at the Palestra. The win is Princeton's 19th in a row, the second-longest active streak in the nation, and it makes the Tigers the first team to, albeit unofficially, go 16-0 in the Ivy.
Myles Stephens (6'5''-G), a day after putting in a career-high 21 points and getting his first career double-double with 10 rebounds in Princeton's comeback win over fourth-seeded and host Penn, led the Tigers with 23 points and earned tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.
Steven Cook (6'5''-F) joined him on the all-tournament team after registering 15 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Sam Downey (6'9''-F) led Yale (18-11, 9-5) with 12 points, six rebounds and an assist.
Princeton will make its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2011, when the 13th-seeded Tigers narrowly lost to eventual Final Four team Kentucky 59-57. The Tigers' opponent and destination will be revealed during the 6 p.m. ET selection show on CBS.
Joining Stephens and Cook on the All-Tournament team was Yale's Sam Downey (6'9''-F), Harvard's Bryce Aiken (6'0''-G) and Penn's Ryan Betley (6'5''-G).
