Shuckers Snapshot: The Shuckers earned a third straight trip to the American Professional Basketball League (APBL) Elite Eight with a 117-93 victory over the NoVa Hawks last weekend. The Shuckers continue to rely on balanced scoring led by Terry Hosley with 18.85 points per game, followed by Gus Chase (18.19), Rocky Coleman (14.50), Kelvin Bright (12.31), and Marvin Jackson (12.21). Danny Thompson leads the team in rebounds with 10.69 rebounds per game and set a franchise playoff record with 19 against the Hawks. The win over NoVa was the fifth time the Shuckers have held an opponent to under 100 points this season after accomplishing that feat only once in their first two seasons. They have also displayed a potent offense in their wins averaging 136.64 points per game, while allowing only 114.

Victors Snapshot: Rockville possesses one of the leagues highest scoring teams. In their wins they averaged 137.25 while giving up 115.83. In their four losses they still posted 131.75 while allowing 132.25. The Victors are led by Dele Ojo, a 2nd Team All-APBL performer last season and Tavares Cooper who earned 3rd Team honors in 2012-2013. Last season the Victors finished the regular season 15-1 and advanced to the APBL title game before falling to NYC 524 118-116.

Outlook: These two teams met just two weeks ago in a battle won by the Victors 126-118. The Shuckers held a 115-106 lead with just 3:40 left in the game, but costly turnovers down the stretch cost them the win and the Patriot Division title. All that is behind the Shuckers now as both teams are 1-0 in the playoffs and fighting for a berth in the APBL Final four and the Southern Conference championship against the winner of the match-up between the Beltway Bombers (11-6) and the Metro All-Stars (14-2).
