For the first time in their six-year history Hudson Valley Kingz have advanced to the APBL semifinals. After winning their division the Kingz received a first round bye in the playoffs. After a week off they took on New York City 524 in the second round. A tight game to begin, Hudson Valley eventually pulled away to win 126-115.

Trailing 25-21 after one quarter Hudson Valley went on the score 38 points in both the second and third quarters to take control. 524 got within eight at 117-109 with two minutes to play, but that is as close as they would get.

Former LeMoyne standout Nate Gause (6'4''-G, college: Le Moyne) was dominant everywhere on the floor for the Kingz, finishing with a game-high 44 points while adding 14 rebounds, five blocked shots and four assists. Hudson Valley also got big contributions from Shereef Taylor (6'2''-G, college: New Paltz St.) (26 points, nine assists), Jimmy Bosque (6'3''-G-89) (19 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds) and Adam Jensen (6'5''-F/C-88, college: Wagner) with 18 points, 10 rebounds.

Hudson Valley Kingz now join Beltway Bombers, Rockville Victors and defending champion New Jersey Thunder in the APBL semifinals this weekend. Game details will be released soon.

Beltway Bombers - 5 months ago
The 2X American Professional Basketball League (APBL) champion Beltway Bombers do not use the the "defending ". Bombers CEO and Head Coach Chaz Dudley has instructed his players and assistant coaches to not say defending champs. "It connotates a defensive posture" says Coach Chaz. "What we accomplished last year in winning our 2nd APBL chip was a great achivement, but this season is a new journey. We are not defending, we instead are aggressively pursuing our 3rd".
