APBL season underway - Nov 1, 2017

The 2017-18 regular season is underway in the American Professional Basketball League with 13 teams competing. Beltway Bombers are the defending league champions.

Five new teams have been added to the league this season: Eastern Shore Generals, Empire State Basketball Club, New York Badgers, Philadelphia Stunnaz and Unbreakable Talent NYC. The league also welcome back two-time champion New Jersey Thunder, who sat out last season.

Of the newcomers, Eastern Shore Generals are off to the best start winning their opening two games. In the season opener the Generals downed APBL United, last years runner up 105-103. Week 2 saw a big performance from Curt Chandler with 42 points to help his team defeat the Philadelphia Stunnaz 128-92.

Beltway Bombers capture third APBL title - 2 months ago
After a wild week off the court, the American Professional Basketball League crowned a champion Saturday night in Willingboro (NJ). That is where the southern Maryland based Beltway Bombers needed overtime to defeat host New Jersey Thunder 126-105. The championship is the third for the Bombers (13-2) who previously won in 2017 and 2012. New Jersey Thunder (12-3) were league champions in 2015 and 2016. New York City and metro teams fold due to financial difficulties - 2 months ago
(from Brian Graham) The APBL New York City and Metro areas teams have folded due to financial and operational difficulties. The teams were unable to meet their fiscal requirements and have opted to fold out of The APBL. The league championship will be held in Philadelphia and feature the New Jersey Thunder vs Beltway Bombers. A matchup of league powerhouse teams.   [read more]
