After another successful regular season, the APBL has kicked off another season of summer league action.
The Pride improved to 2-0 in the summer season with a victory over the New York Crusaders this past weekend. Nate Young (6'7''-G/F-86) led all scorers with a Manhattan Pride scoring record of 50 points in the victory. Wayne Surin (6'4''-F/G-89, college: Columbia, MO) also added 20 points and William Modeste (6'1''-G-81, college: Polytechnic) scored 17 points and made four three pointers. Other strong contributors were Seon Jack (6'1''-G) who finished with 12 points, Steven Grant (6'3''-F, college: Brooklyn) with eight points, Brian Graham (6'4''-G-83, college: Point Loma) (six points) and Frank Canales (two points).
In other Manhattan Pride news, after their 2015-16 APBL season, Pride CEO and founder Will Modeste received the prestigious Executive of the Year award. The Pride finished with the fourth best record in the APBL Eastern Conference and the best winning season in Manhattan Pride history.
In April the Pride also traveled to Mexico and hosted their first international overseas tour. The Pride spent a number of days in Mexico and received valuable experience playing against other Mexican pro teams there. The Pride also have other events and exhibition games planned before entering their sixth season as a professional franchise in the APBL.
