Regular Season Day 4: GIE Maile M. - Atlanta S. 83-73

The biggest surprise took place in Morrow where host GIE Maile Matrix (3-1) beat league's leader Savage (3-1) 83-73 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Savage. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Savage 51-36 including 24 on the offensive glass. GIE Maile Matrix looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when GIE Maile Matrix made 9 blocks. Forward Erron Maxey (198-78, college: Providence) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Josh Montgomery (196-91, college: SSU) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Guard Brandon Bland (191, college: Columbus St.) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Marquis Barnes (183-86, college: Gordon CC) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Savage players scored in double figures. GIE Maile Matrix have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Atlanta S. Savage will play next round against Vipers trying to make it back to the top of the standings. GIE Maile Matrix will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Ice in Atlanta.
