Geoff Harner (6'1''-G-83) of Austin Knights Southern Generals triumph in the UBA Finals Freddie Williams Named MVP - May 23, 2011 Southern Generals triumph in UBA Finals as they prove themselves to be better than any other team in the UBA. In the Final Southern Generals roll pass the Atlanta Assault 111-92. The Generals were led by the amazing play of Freddie Williams (6'2''-G-87, college: Clayton St.). Williams was the playoffs top scorer averaging 20.1ppg in the playoffs. Although Williams carried the Generals in the playoffs; Michael Sloan (6'5''-G/F-84, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Clayton St.) stole the show in the Championship game. Sloan nailed 24 points nailing 6 three pointers. Dominique Holmes (6'7''-F-84, college: So.Poly State) was the top performer for the Atlanta Assault. Holmes scored 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in a losing effort. You have to feel for a guy like Holmes, said John White. He played his heart out. The Southern Generals have dominated the UBA from start to finish and it was a great finish to the UBA season. The starters were chosen by owners voting and announced last week. The reserves were selected in voting by the head coaches in each conference, who had to vote for two forwards, two guards, a center and two players regardless of position. All of the players chosen to represent the South come from the top three teams in the conference. The voting was much more spread out in the North with all different teams represented, including two with losing records. The All-Star Weekend will begin Saturday April 30th at 3:30pm.
