Colorado School of Mines Wins the 2017 RMAC Men's Basketball Tournament Crown - Mar 6, 2017

Colorado School of Mines wins the 2017 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Men's basketball tournament at the Lockridge Arena in Golden, Colorado. The Orediggers claimed a 102-98 victory over the Skyhawks in overtime.
The No. 1 seed, Colorado School of Mines and the No. 2 seed Fort Lewis, saw action against each other for the second consecutive championship game, with last minute free throws coming in handy once again.
The Orediggers were down 85-83 with 11-seconds remaining in regulation. CSM's Ben Clare (6'8''-F) made both free throws to tie the game 85-85 and send the game into overtime.
Clare led the team with 23 points, going 5-for-6 in free throws and 9-for-13 from the floor. He also grabbed 10 rebounds. RMAC Tournament Most Valuable Player, Gokul Natesan (6'5''-G) had 20 points on the night and three rebounds. The senior guard made 9-of-11 shots at the line and was 5-for-14 from the field.
'I can't be more proud of these guys and what they showed,' said Colorado School of Mines Head Coach Pryor Orser . 'We just fought, kept trying and believing.'
The Orediggers sank 27-of-32 (.844) free throws, shot 45.1-percent from the field and 37.9-percent beyond the arch.
The Skyhawks we led by Rasmus Bach's game high 29 points. Bach made 11 of his 21 shots from the floor and 3-of-4 free throws. Blaylock scored 26 points in the game and grabbed seven rebounds.
'The game in general was unbelievable�I'm all about the players. It's their team, their win and I'm just here to put them in the right positions. It's a privilege for me.'
The Orediggers saw themselves trailing behind the Skyhawks in the first half with a 10-point deficit. CSM's Kaan Korkmaz (6'1''-PG) helped put the team on a 12-0 run. With back and forth scoring, the teams tied nine times throughout the game.
In the final 30-seconds, Fort Lewis was in the lead 84-80. Key plays were Natesan's two free throws, Ben Sonnefeld (6'3''-G)'s layup and FLC's Blaylock's 1-of-2 free throw shots to bring the score to 85-83. Clare's two shots at the line would make it a tied game in regulation, 85-85.
During overtime, the Orediggers kept the momentum going outscoring the Skyhawks 17-13 to finish the game 102-98.
