#1. Devin Schmidt (6'4''-G-1994, graduated '2017, plays pro in Spain) led Palencia to a victory over the tenth-ranked Almansa (1-2) 89-74 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Wednesday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Schmidt scored 18 points in 21 minutes. Zunder Palencia (3-0) is placed third in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Schmidt's first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 11.7ppg and 1.7apg in three games he played so far.
#2. Marc Liyanage (6'7''-SF-1990, graduated '2011, plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Basketball Akademie Giessen 46ers (0-5) 98-81 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) last Saturday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 11 rebounds. Liyanage also added 6 assists. VfL Bensheim (3-2) is placed eighth in South-West group. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Liyanage has relatively good stats this year 13.5ppg, 11.0rpg, 7.0apg and 1.5spg.
