Every week we bring you a list of the top former Jaguars players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Troy Cracknell, a 6'4'' guard at 27 years old, graduated from Augusta in 2022. He played a crucial role in helping his team win the PeachBelt Regular Season Champion title that year. Currently, he is showcasing his skills as a professional player in the Dominican Republic. In a recent game, Cracknell led Metros to a convincing 94-79 victory over the sixth-ranked Caneros, contributing 11 points and 3 assists during his 30 minutes on the court.
Metros de Santiago, with a record of 10-2, is currently in second place in the league standings. With only four games remaining in the Regular Season, each game becomes increasingly important for the team's playoff aspirations. Cracknell's impressive performance against the Caneros further solidified his reputation as a champion player.
Throughout this season, Cracknell has maintained solid statistics, averaging 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game in the 12 games he has played so far. His consistent contributions on the court highlight his skills and dedication to his team's success, making him a valuable asset and a true finalist.
#2. British champion Deane Williams, a 6'8'' power forward aged 29 and a Jaguars alumnus from 2019, currently plays professionally in the United Kingdom. Recently, he showcased his skills for the London Lions in a crucial game against the formidable Cheshire Phoenix. Despite scoring only 4 points in 22 minutes, Williams played a vital role in his team's dominant 104-81 victory on Sunday night.
The match was highly anticipated as it pitted two top 4 ranked teams against each other in the British Super League Basketball competition. The London Lions, with a record of 26-6, are leading the league standings. Williams demonstrated his value on the court by contributing 4 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists against Cheshire Phoenix, helping his team secure the win. His performance was instrumental in the team's success, ultimately leading them to be crowned as the champion.
Throughout the season, Williams has maintained solid averages of 8.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game across 36 games. His consistent contributions and standout performances have undoubtedly solidified his position as a key player for the London Lions and a deserving finalist in the league.
#3. Portuguese athlete Rafael Munford, a 6'5'' forward aged 27, graduated from Augusta in 2020. That year, he received the prestigious All-PeachBelt Elite 15 Award. Currently playing professionally in Brazil, Munford recently competed for Sport Club Corinthians Paulista but faced a tough challenge against Pinheiros in the Brazilian Novo Basquete Brasil. Despite his commendable efforts, Munford, the finalist, was unable to lead his team to victory against their rivals. In a disappointing turn of events, Sport Club Corinthians Paulista was defeated 95-65 by the formidable Pinheiros, the champion.
During the game, Munford showcased his skills by contributing 3 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists in 21 minutes of play. Although his individual performance was noteworthy, it was not enough to secure a win for his team. This game may not be counted among Munford's best performances, given the unfavorable outcome for the finalist.
Throughout the season, Munford has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game across 47 matches. It is interesting to note that he holds dual American and Portuguese citizenship, allowing him the flexibility to compete in Portugal as a domestic player if desired.
#4. Australian Benjamin Ursich, a 6'5'' guard/forward aged 29 and a Jaguars alum from 2017, played a vital role in helping them clinch the PeachBelt East Division Regular Season Champion title that year. Despite scoring only 4 points and grabbing 4 rebounds in 22 minutes of play, Ursich's presence on the court was instrumental in his team's victory.
Kilsyth Cobras, with a record of 7-3, currently hold the fifth position in the South group standings. Ursich, in his ninth season with the team, has been a consistent performer, evident from his impressive performance against Keilor T where he scored four points and added four rebounds and one assist to help secure another win for his team. This victory marked the fourth consecutive win for Kilsyth Cobras this season.
