EuroBasket Pro Blazers Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Blazers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Billy McShepard (6'10''-F-87, graduated '11, plays pro in Israel) led Elitzur Ironi Ashkelon to a 3-point victory against the fourth-ranked H.Galilee (12-9) 66-63 in the Israeli National League (second division) in Tuesday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds in 34 minutes. Elitzur Ironi Ashkelon (9-12) is placed ninth in the National League. It's McShepard's first season with the team. McShepard has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 19.2ppg, 11.0rpg, 2.7apg and 1.7spg in 17 games he played so far.

   #2. Chris Longoria (6'4''-G-92, graduated '16, plays in Germany) could not help Recklinghausen (10-2) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Longoria's very good performance the second-placed Recklinghausen (10-2) was crushed 95-72 on the road by the lower-ranked Grevenbroich (#6) in the West group. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Longoria also added 4 passes. It's Longoria's first season with the team. This year he has very high stats. Longoria averages 20.0ppg, 4.9rpg and 3.8apg. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

   #3. Experienced Raymond Canady Jr. (6'7''-G/F-84, graduated '07, currently in Spain) contributed to Tormes' victory against the ninth-ranked Menorca (10-13) 77-72 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Wednesday night. He scored 10 points in 25 minutes. Queseria La Antigua CB Tormes (6-17) is placed 12th in West group. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. This year Canady Jr. averages 7.7ppg and 4.3rpg in six games. Canady Jr. attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

   #4. Jimmy Kodet (6'7''-F-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Germany) was not able to help Goldbach (4-15) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Kodet's very good performance the 14th-placed Goldbach (4-15) was edged 74-73 at home by the higher-ranked Vilsbiburg (#8) in the South-East group. He was the top scorer with 29 points. Kodet also added 7 rebounds. This season Kodet has very high stats. He averages 20.8ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.5apg, 1.5bpg and 1.7spg.

   #5. Jeremiah Hill (6'2''-G-95, graduated '17, plays in the NBA G League) was not able to secure a victory for the Lakeland Magic (26-15) in their game against the Salt Lake City Stars (21-19) in the NBA G League. Hill recorded 5 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in 32 minutes. The Lakeland Magic lost 107-112 in Salt Lake City to the Stars. This year Hill averages 6.2ppg, 2.1rpg and 2.5apg in 35 games. He attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Tyrone Curnell (6'8''-F/C-88) plays for San Lorenzo in Argentinian La Liga
Nils Dejworek (6'10''-C/F-95) plays for Soeflingen in German 2.Regionalliga
James Anacreon (6'7''-F-90) played for Queens Struggle in the The Basketball Tournament few monts ago
