Cal State East Bay continued its remarkable season Saturday night, using a balanced offensive effort and a dominant second half to defeat Cal Poly Humboldt 80-63 at Kellogg Arena and earn the program’s first CCAA Tournament Championship. The victory kept the Pioneers perfect at 30–0 and showcased the depth and efficiency that have defined their run through the 2025–26 season. After a competitive opening stretch that featured eight lead changes, East Bay gradually seized control late in the first half. A late surge helped the Pioneers turn a tight contest into a 35–27 advantage at the break. Tournament MVP Jaayden Bush (5'11''-PG) led the way for East Bay with 23 points, attacking the paint and converting at the free-throw line while helping spark several scoring runs. The Pioneers also received a dominant inside performance from Josh Ijeh, who finished with 12 points and a game-high 15 rebounds to control the glass. Tyree Campbell (6'5''-G) added 11 points and knocked down key three-pointers as Cal State East Bay found its rhythm from the perimeter in the second half. All three earned all-tournament honors. Cal State East Bay pulled away after halftime, shooting.484 percent from the field in the second half while stretching the lead to as many as 19 points. The Pioneers’ defense also played a critical role, forcing 15 turnovers and limiting Humboldt’s offensive flow during several decisive stretches. CSUEB also capitalized on securing the ball and bench production. The Pioneers had just six turnovers, and their reserves outscored Humboldt’s bench 18-7. Cal Poly Humboldt (17–14) was led by Shakir Odunewu (6'11''-C), who scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the tournament. Drew Ardouin (6'4''-G) added 14 points, and Rob Jenkins contributed 13 and six rebounds for the Lumberjacks. Odunewu and Zaveion Bineyard (6'8''-F) each earned all-tournament honors.
