The Golden Bears would get it back to within four at 71-67 on a layup by Jon Deshields (6'5''-G) with 2:45 remaining as they were able to take advantage of a couple of missed free throws by IUP but the Crimson Hawks would then close the game on a 13-6 run that included making 11-of-14 free throws in the final 2:13.
Darryl Webb (6'6''-F) added 12 points for IUP in just 23 minutes as he was plagued by foul trouble and fouled out with over five minutes left in the game.
