Alabama Huntsville Secures GSC Tournament Title - Mar 8, 2015
Alabama Huntsville claimed its second-ever GSC Title in the 2015 VisitSpaceCoast.Com GSC Tournament Final by defeating West Alabama 73-68 on Saturday.
KEY MOMENT UAH led from the start of the game, getting their biggest lead of 14 when they were up 41-27 over UWA with 17:48 remaining in the second half. UWA outscored UAH 41-32 after that point, but could not overcome UAH's stellar 3-point shooting.
QUOTABLE "This was a great win for our school," said Alabama Huntsville Head Coach Lennie Acuff . "I'm very grateful. We have a great program, great administration and great kids. It all makes for a pretty good combination. I'm really thankful for all the people that came from Huntsville today, what a great crowd we had. Great atmosphere. We had to try and control the game and that speaks to their credit, they're a great team. To beat them three times and Union three times is quite an accomplishment by these young men. I'm proud of them and thankful to be their coach."
NOTABLE UAH won its second GSC Tournament Championship in school history, its first since 2012.
