The University of Missouri-St. Louis is the 2022 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) men's basketball champion. The Tritons came away with a 10-point win over the University of Indianapolis in the title game Sunday afternoon at the First Community Arena at the Vadalabene Center on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.UMSL has earned the league's automatic-qualifying bid to the 2022 NCAA Midwest Regional as they await the NCAA Selection Show tonight at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time. It was a game of runs Sunday afternoon, UIndy began the game on an 18-0 run before the Tritons got on the board with nearly seven minutes of game time passed by. UMSL went on to outscore the Greyhounds 36-10 as they led by eight heading into the locker room. The runs continued as UIndy began the second half shooting like they did to begin the game to quickly bring the game back down to just a one possession game. But every time the Greyhounds made it close, the Tritons had an answer before sealing the game in the final minute to clinch their first Men's Basketball Conference crown. The Tritons had four players finish in double figures, led by Shane Wissink (6'0''-PG) to lead all scorers with 19 points. The senior guard sank 5-of-7 from three to become the school's all-time leader in three's made in a career Sunday afternoon. All-GLVC selections Steve Webb (6'2''-G) and Marty Jackson (6'6''-F) both chipped in with a dozen points each while Isaiah Fuller (6'2''-G) came off the bench scoring 15 points, draining seven of his eight attempts from the free throw line. Shane Wissink was named to the All-Tournament team and named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after his weekend for the Tritons. Two other players for Missouri-St. Louis earned All-Tournament honors, Marty Jackson and Steve Webb joined Wissink on the All-Conference list. UIndy's Cory Miller Jr. (6'4''-G/F). and Lewis' Connor Niego (6'8''-F) rounded out the All-Tournament squad.
