Bison win SAC! - Mar 11, 2014

After going 15-15 for the regular season, the only route to a 14th consecutive trip to Kansas City and the NAIA National Tournament was through a victory in the Sooner Athletic Conference championship game.
OBU successfully navigated that course Saturday, knocking off Wayland Baptist 70-69, for its fourth win in as many nights.
"We didn't play that well in the first half," said OBU Coach Doug Tolin . "We weren't making baskets, but somehow we kept working at got it done."
The path looked bleak with 4:53 left in the game as the Bison fell behind 67-57 and WBU had the ball.
Kendall Parks (5'9''-PG) got a steal and Aaron Abram (6'5''-F) put back a shot to start the comeback. After an offensive foul by WBU, Tyler Davis (6'5''-G) scored inside to make it a 67-59 contest with 3:45 to go and the Bison faithful began to believe.
A WBU miss and a Hayden Darst (6'9''-C-91) rebound led up to a Cale Jackson (6'2''-G) free throw to inch OBU closer. Parks rebounded a three-point Pioneer miss and Hayden Darst scored on the other end with a nice feed from Eric Stubbs (6'10''-F), knocking the lead down to 67-64 with 1:58 left.
After a WBU turnover, Hayden Darst was fouled and sank both ends of the bonus free throw to make it 67-66 with 1:12 to go. OBU forced another turnover and Aaron Abram delivered the lead with 47 seconds to play.
OBU caused yet another turnover and Hayden Darst made two more charity shots with 12 seconds to play to complete the 13-0 run for a 70-67 lead.
The Bison fouled and Markus Monroe (6'2''-G) made two free throws with seven seconds left. OBU then missed two free throws but were blessed with one more WBU turnover with one second left.
Hayden Darst, the tournament MVP, led the Bison with 20 points, followed by Cale Jackson with 16, Aaron Abram with 15 and Stubbs with 10. Stubbs got a double-double with 10 rebounds.
Markus Monroe led the Pioneers with 27 points and Royal Royal Crouch (6'4''-F) added 16.
Hayden Darst was joined on the All-Tournament team by Hustle Award winner Cale Jackson, Aaron Abram, Markus Monroe, Royal Crouch, WBU's Barry Johnson (6'0''-PG) and USAO's Tyler Reynolds (6'4''-G).
OBU (19-15) won the tournament, beating ninth-seeded Texas Wesleyan, top-seeded Southwestern Assemblies of God, fifth-seeded Mid-America Christian and the second-seeded Pioneers.
The Bison will find out their NAIA Tournament assignment next week.
