No. 1-seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) used a pair of runs to claim its fourth straight Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament title with a 72-64 win over No. 7-seed Bethel (Tenn.) tonight at Bowling Green Arena. The Lions (29-1) earned the MSC's automatic bid into the NAIA National Tournament, which begins on March 13 and 14 on various campus sites across the NAIA. Freed-Hardeman used a 16-2 run midway through the first half and an 11-2 spurt to start the second half to capture the championship. The Lions led by as many as 23 points before Bethel managed to cut the deficit to six points in the game's final minute. That's as close as the Wildcats (18-12) would get.
