Arizona Christian Beats the Buzzer to Claim Second Straight Tournament Title-Mar 5, 2025
In a thrilling climax to the GSAC Men's Basketball Tournament Championship Game, Arizona Christian clinched a narrow victory over The Master's with a final score of 77-75. The game reached an electrifying conclusion when Lorenzo Wright of Arizona Christian hit a dramatic 3-pointer at the buzzer, sealing the victory for his team. The teams, ranked as the first and second seeds, showcased competitive spirit and high-level play, living up to the game's anticipation. From the outset, The Master's Mustangs established a lead, ending the first half ahead at 39-34, driven by strong performances from Deaken Stangl (6'5''-F) and Kaleb Lowery. However, as the game progressed into the second half, Arizona Christian began closing the gap, led by Ese Onakpoma with 16 points and supported by Jalik Dunkley-Distant (6'7''-F) and Anthony Howell (6'7''-F).
