Oredigger win Frontier Conference Tournament - Mar 2, 2022
Drew Huse (6'2''-G) hit a three pointer with two seconds left on the clock giving the second-seeded Montana Tech Orediggers a 62-61 victory over the top-seeded Carroll College Saints and the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship. Montana Tech played from behind the entire second half after trailing 32-29 at the break. Huse's long ball gave Tech their first lead since the first half. The tournament championship victory is the first for the Orediggers since 1999. The tight contest saw neither team taking more than a five-point lead in the game. The Orediggers finished shooting 42.4% from the field while holding the Saints to 39.3%. Tech shot 50% from the field in the second half. Sindou Diallo (6'3''-G) led the Orediggers with 18 points. Caleb Bellach (6'7''-F) finished with 15 points and shot 3 of 6 from beyond the arc. Huse had eight points and Taylor England finished with seven points and seven rebounds. Shamrock Campbell (6'1''-G) led the Saints with 17 points going 5 for 5 from long. Jovan Sljivancanin (6'5''-F) had 15 points. The Orediggers receive the automatic bid into the NAIA National Championship.
