Top-seeded Florida College used a strong second half to defeat No. 3 Washington Adventist University (Maryland) 74-60 to capture the 2024 Continental Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship on Sunday afternoon at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas. The Falcons claimed their second conference tournament title after winning the championship in 2022. After the Shock led 34-33 at the halftime break, Florida College relied on a 10-0 run in the early moments of the second half to take a 45-35 lead after two free throws by Cam Selders with 13:52 remaining in the game. The Falcons' lead grew to 10 points, at 56-46, after a pair of free throws by Ja'Shavious Perdue (6'7''-C) with 8:17 left. Washington Adventist, which made six 3-point field goals in the opening 20 minutes, was only able to get within seven points, at 61-54, in the final minutes. Florida College outscored WAU by an 18-5 margin at the free throw line during the strong second half. The team also shot 45.8% from the floor, with Selders leading the charge by scoring all his 11 points in the second half. He was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Bryan Bayonne (6'4''-G) came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points for the Falcons. Drew Kramer (6'7''-G/F) chipped in 13 points, while Perdue scored eight points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
