Ervin's 3 gives Union AAC Tournament title - Mar 1, 2020
Blake Ervin drained 3-pointer at the buzzer to give top-seeded Union the 84-81 win over No. 2 seed Montreat and the 2020 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Basketball Tournament championship. Montreat overcame a 12-point deficit with 4:24 to play to tie the game at 81-all with 23 seconds left. Union held the ball for the final shot, and Ervin buried it from the left corner to give the Bulldogs their seventh consecutive tournament title. Markelle Turner netted 20 points to lead Union in earning MVP honors as teammates Ervin and Richard Brown joined him on the All-Tournament Team. Ervin had 15 points with Brown posting a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds to go with six blocks. Eric Reed and Victor Tshiona paced Montreat with 20 and 17 points, respectively, with both also making the All-Tournament Team. Milligan's Nathan Hastings and Columbia International's Corey Benton also earned All-Tournament Team honors.
