Harris-Stowe wins second-straight tournament championship - Mar 7, 2018

For the second-straight season, the Harris-Stowe State Hornets are crowned AMC Men's Basketball Tournament Champions.
No. 3-seeded Harris-Stowe knocked off No. 5-seed 95-71 in the AMC Men's Basketball Tournament Championship.
The Eagles (17-13) jumped out to a quick 11-4 lead. The Hornets responded with 8-1 run to tie the game at 12.
Harris-Stowe (23-10) took its first lead at 13-12 and never looked back. The Hornets extended its lead to a first-half high, 23 points (50-27) with 1:49 remaining in the first half.
The Eagles shot 28.1-percent (9-of-32) from the field and 4-of-16 (25.0-percent) in the first half.
Harris-Stowe shot 57.1-percent from the field and 5-of-13 from behind the 3-point line.
In the second half, both teams answered each other, as Harris-Stowe held a 19-point or larger lead in entire half.
Williams Baptist shot 40.0-percent (26-of-65) from the field and 28.6-percent (8-of-28). The Eagles were led by Devante Carolina (6'0''-PG)'s 16 points and Shackeel Butters (6'6''-F) and Briheam Anthony (6'4''-G) added 15 points each. Butters added a game-high 14 rebounds.
Harris-Stowe had six players score in double figures - Deandre Clark (6'3''-G) (20), Christian Wimbley (6'2''-F) (19), Nate Rigmaiden (5'10''-PG) (12), Dwane Miner (6'8''-G) (10), Altez Davis (6'8''-F) (10) and Samuel Egedi (6'5''-F) (10). Clark added a team-high 10 rebounds in the win.
