Angel Jackson gets MVP of the Week award for WPBA (by Hoops Agents)

Angel Jackson (198-F-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Oakland Swish and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 45 points and 10 rebounds, while her team beat Riptide (#7, 2-6) 76-71. Swish maintains the 4th position in WPBA . They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Swish will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. Jackson turned to be Swish's top player in her first season with the team. Jackson State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jackson is in league's top in points (7th best: 30.0ppg), assists (5th best: 0.0apg) and averages solid 4.7bpg,52.1% FGP and 900.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young swingman Mo Bennett (177-F/G-1990) of Hayward Reign. Bennett impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Reign lost that game 65-70 to slightly higher-ranked Royals (#5, 3-5). This loss caused Reign to drop to 6th position in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Reign managed to get this year. Bennett is a newcomer at Reign and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Mali Salimatou Kourouma (180-F-1999) of Berkeley Royals (#5). Kourouma got into 30-points club by scoring 36 points in the last round. She went also for nine rebounds . She was a key player of Royals, leading her team to a 70-65 win against slightly lower-ranked Reign (#6, 2-6). The chances of Royals not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Kourouma could try to bring Royals' a little bit higher in the standings. Kourouma has individually a great season in WPBA. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.7ppg (best scorer). She also has 2.7spg and 1.4bpg.

9. Jada Lewis (175-G) of Swish - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Crystal Primm (180-G-1997) of Reign - 15 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
