The most exciting game of round 6 in the WPBA took place in . This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of bottom-ranked Valkyrie (0-6) to fourth ranked Swish (3-3) 75-74 on Saturday evening. It was a good game for guard Andriana Avent (183, college: Jackson St.) who saved her team from a defeat with 30 points. Forward Angel Jackson (198-2001, college: Jackson St.) contributed with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Guard Destiny Jackson (168, college: Monmouth) replied with 17 points and 4 steals for Titans. Swish maintains fourth position with 3-3 record. Titans at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Swish are looking forward to face Reign (#6) in Hayward in the next round. Titans will play on the road against the league's second-placed Wolves in Alameda and hope to get finally their first victory.
WPBA top team - Phoenix (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Riptide (1-5) 110-64. Point guard Charity Gallegos (165, college: N.Alabama) scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Delia Moore chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Jolene Armendariz (175-2000, college: La Salle) with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Undefeated Phoenix have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Riptide lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. Phoenix will play against Blaze (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Riptide will play against Royals (#5) in Berkeley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last two games of round 6 Reign was smashed by Wolves on the road 103-59. Blaze destroyed Royals on its own court 95-76.
The most impressive performance of 6th round was 25 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists by Ameela Li of Blaze.
