Erica McCall (190-F/C-1995) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Bay Area Phoenix and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 30-year old power forward had a double-double of 23 points and 18 rebounds, while her team outclassed Swish (#4, 2-3) with 41-point margin 124-83. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Phoenix to consolidate first place in the WPBA. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Phoenix already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game McCall had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Phoenix, through which she has constantly improved. Stanford University graduate has very impressive stats this year. McCall is in league's top in points (5th best: 21.4ppg) and averages solid 2.6bpg and 64.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was guard Kylie Horstmeyer (183-G) of Bay City Blaze. Horstmeyer impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course she led Blaze to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Riptide (#7, 1-4) 151-94. Blaze's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Horstmeyer is one of the most experienced players at Blaze and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Iimar'I Thomas (178-G/F-2000) of second-ranked Alameda Wolves. Thomas got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. She went also for eleven rebounds . She was a key player of Wolves, leading her team to a 109-91 easy win against the lower-ranked Royals (#5, 2-3). Wolves is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... Thomas has a great season in WPBA.
