Thomas' double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

24-year old swingman Iimar'I Thomas (178-G/F-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Alameda Wolves and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
She had a double-double of 46 points and 10 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Riptide (#8, 0-8) with 31-point margin 109-78. Wolves maintains the 2nd position in WPBA . They are still close to the very top. Wolves would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 7-1 record. In the team's last game Thomas had a remarkable 84.0% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Wolves, through which she has constantly improved. University of California at Los Angeles graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thomas is league's best scorer averaging so far 34.6ppg. Thomas is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 11.3rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 69.0% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Ameela Li (168-G-1997) of top-ranked Bay City Blaze. She is Canadian-American guard in her second season at Blaze. In the last game Li recorded an impressive triple-double of 34 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists. Of course she led Blaze to another comfortable win 93-80 over slightly lower-ranked Phoenix (#3, 5-3) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Blaze consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and Blaze managed to win all 8 games keeping a perfect record. Li is one of the most experienced players at Blaze and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.6ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 5.9rpg and 6.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Mo Bennett (177-F/G-1990) of Hayward Reign (#7). Bennett showcased her all-around game by recording 17 points, 16 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Reign, leading her team to a 80-55 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Swish (#5, 3-5). Reign can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Bennett has individually a great season in WPBA. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.8rpg (4th best).
