Jones' 25 points and 7 rebounds give her Player of the Week award

26-year old guard Doris Jones (175-G-1998) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Bay City Blaze and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had the game-high 25 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Blaze in her team's victory, helping them to beat Royals (#5, 2-3) 82-76. It allowed Blaze to consolidate first place in the WPBA. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Blaze already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Blaze, through which she has constantly improved. University of California Santa Barbara graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.2ppg).

Second best performed player last round was Jhaina Stephens (185-F) of San Francisco Riptide. She is a forward in her first season at Riptide. In the last game Stephens recorded an impressive double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Riptide was edged by slightly higher-ranked Swish (#6, 2-3) 85-84. Riptide are still at the very bottom. 5 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Stephens is one of the most experienced players at Riptide and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#7). She also registered 9.4 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Kamilah Jackson (183-F-1992) of Alameda Wolves (#3). Jackson scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Wolves, leading her team to a 83-74 win against #4 ranked Phoenix in a game of the week. Wolves is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... Jackson has a great season in WPBA. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 1.7apg (3rd best).
