The 29-year old player was the main contributor (47 points, eight rebounds) to her team's victory, helping them to crush Wolves (#2, 6-2) with 22-point margin 101-79. Royals maintains the 5th position in WPBA . Royals is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. In the team's last game Cooks had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 8 attempts. It's her second year at Royals and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Former Washington State University star has very solid stats this year. Cooks is league's best scorer averaging so far 33.3ppg. Cooks is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 11.2rpg). The second best player in last round's games was young Doris Jones (175-SG-1998) of Blaze. Jones had a very good evening with a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Blaze to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Phoenix (#4, 4-4) 103-70. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Blaze consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team's 6-2 record is not bad at all. Jones is well-known at Blaze and is a proven leader in her second season with the team. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#2). She also registered 7.0 boards per game. Third on the list of top players last round was guard Kayla Moutry (175-G-1999) of Riptide (#7). Moutry showcased her all-around game by recording 9 points, sixteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. She was a key player of Riptide, leading her team to a 84-76 win against Valkyrie (#8, 0-8). The chances of Riptide not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Moutry could try to bring Riptide's a little bit higher in the standings. Moutry has individually a great season in WPBA. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.1rpg (7th best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
