Cooks' double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- June 27, 2023
She had a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Reign (#6, 1-3) 91-76. Royals maintains the 5th position in WPBA . Royals is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. Cooks turned to be Royals' top player in her first season with the team. Washington State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Cooks is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.0ppg. Cooks is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.0rpg). Second best performed player last round was Jovana Subasic (193-F/C-1997) of Blaze. She is Serbian forward in her first season at Blaze. In the last game Subasic recorded impressive 21 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course she led Blaze to another comfortable win outscoring Valkyrie (#8, 0-4) 102-60. This victory allowed Blaze to move up to 4th position in the standings. Her team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Subasic is one of the most experienced players at Blaze and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Hannah Langhi (188-F/C) of league's leader Wolves. Langhi scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She was a key player of Wolves, leading her team to a 77-74 win against #2 ranked Phoenix in a game of the week. Wolves started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Langhi turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Langhi has a very solid season.
