Just two nights removed from losing their home opener and seeing their impressive home win streak snapped the Lightning bounce back in a big way with a 105-83 victory over the visiting Windsor Express. The Lightning that took the court Saturday night was night and day different from their home opener. Mike Edwards (6'9''-C-1997, college: Georgia) got the Lightning rolling early on both ends of the floor posting two blocks and seven quick points to help London out to a 8-2 lead. London would continue to struggle from distance going 2-9 in the quarter, allowing the Express to close the Lightning lead down to just one point at the end of the frame. While struggling from deep in the first, London found their range in the second quarter going 7- 12 from beyond the arc behind Canadian, Adham Eleeda's three made three's in the quarter. London would enter the halftime break with a 62-40 lead after outscoring Windsor 35-14 in the quarter. Jordan Burns (6'2''-G-1997, college: Colgate, agency: Green Sports Management) was the hot man in the third, scoring 14 of London's 31 points and hitting 4-5 from deep. London's lead would reach as much as 35 points in the second half before putting the Express away for good and winning the game by 22. Leading the way for the Lightning was second year guard, Jordan Burns, who nearly recorded a triple double of 26 points, 7 rebounds and a game-high 9 assists. Mike Edwards was much improved over the season opener, posting an impressive line of 17 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Canadian guards Terry Thomas (6'4''-G-1991, college: Ottawa) and Mike Nuga (6'2''-G, college: UNLV) each posted 13 points for the Bolts while Mareik Isom (6'9''-F-1994, college: Texas) added 12. Speedy guard Nick Garth (6'0''-PG-1996, college: Lamar) led Windsor with a team-high 19 points and 5 assist. Windsor's bench outscored the Bolts bench 40-28 on the night with three players reaching double-digits. The Lightning are on the road next week as they head to St. John's Newfoundland to take on the Newfoundland Rogues of The Basketball League. London plays Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in St. John's.
