Lightning Top Hurricanes To Win NBLC Championship - Jun 6, 2017
The London Lightning are the 2017 NBL Canada Champions after defeating the Halifax Hurricanes 129-116 in Game 6 on Friday. At the end of the first period, the Lightning held a 36-25 advantage over Halifax, and extended their lead to 69-51 at halftime. The Lightning continued to lead 97-85 in the third, but things got close for London when Halifax came within seven points with just over 7:03 left in the final frame. However, London quickly brushed off the advance to earn the win with a 12 point advantage. Royce White (6'8''-F-91, college: Iowa St.) led London with 34 points and 15 rebounds, while Ryan Anderson (6'4''-G-87, college: Nebraska) put up 32 points and seven rebounds. Kyle Johnson (6'5''-G-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Two Points) also had 15 points and three rebounds. The Lightning won the best-of-seven series 4-2. Courtesy of: blackburnnews.com
