Grand-Rapids-Gold landed 28-year old 6-6 swingman Zak Irvin (college: Michigan). Irvin has played for the last two years at Bank of Taiwan in Taiwanese SBL league. In 29 games he averaged impressive 16.2ppg, 7.7rpg, 5.9apg (top 2) and 1.5spg (in top 5) last season. He helped them to win the regular season.
Last year (five years after his graduation) he was drafted by Maine Celtics (G-League) in second round (14th overall).
Irvin graduated from University of Michigan in 2017 and it is his sixth season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Irvin has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Israel (Hapoel Eilat), Italy, Mexico (Abejas), NBA (NY Knicks), Dominican Republic (Mauricio Baez), NBA G League (Westchester Knicks) and NBA Summer League (NY Knicks).
Irvin was voted to All-Big Ten Honorable Mention back in 2016.
