The Quad City Flames beat the Portland Storm 134-109 in The Practice Facility in Portland Oregon on Saturday. Lonnie Pearson-Piper (6'7''-G/F) led the Flames with 25 points 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Veteran Jamaal Miller (6'2''-PG-82, college: Green River CC) also had a monster game with 13 points 12 assists 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Storm coach Curtis Hill says "Jamal just had his hands all over this game with his natural leadership. That's what he does and has been doing it for years that's why hes one of the best minor league floor generals to ever do it. He gets his guys in the right spots on the floor to succeed."
Portland was paced by Paul Hafford (6'5''-G/F-84, college: Portland St.) who finished with 20 points and 9 assists. Jordan Berni (6'0''-PG-95, college: Clark JC) finished with a game high 26 points.
The Portland Storm move on to a 4-4 record and Quad City moves on to a 11-3 record. Quad City travels down to the Bay area next week as they take on The Oaktown Warriors next Saturday and they play ABA powerhouse San Francisco Citycats which should be a clash of the heavyweights from the Far West Region the following day on Sunday.
