For the second time during this season, the Atlanta Aliens has scored more than 200 points in one game. They did it again this past weekend as the Aliens defeated Atlanta Rappers 206-105 and improved to 8-3 overall.
The Aliens were coached by Assistant Coach Fred Grant in the absence of General Manager and Head Duck Richards who was out of town with family business. However, the Aliens never skipped a beat. Both teams played last weekend and the Aliens knew exactly what they needed to do in order to capture the victory. The Aliens switched their starting lineup giving reserve players a chance to step up and set the tempo of the game and they did that with style. As a result, seven Aliens finished the night in double figures.
Leading the way was 6'7 200lbs Jeremiah Kelly who started his first ABA Pro Basketball game and had a career night scoring 24pts and grabbing 15rebs. Most impressively, he shot 100% from the field 12/12 to add to his career performance. Of course the veteran players provided him support. Team Captain and Floor General Michael Stanley (6'2''-G, college: Emmanuel, GA) came off the bench and scored 54pts in the second half. He finished the game with 58pts and did not play the first quarter and only half of the second quarter. Thomas Brown dominated on the inside as usual the scoring 36pts and snatching 12rebs, Sherrard Brantley (6'2''-G-90, college: Georgia) 32pts, Donald Thomas (5'10''-G) 19pts. Atlanta Rappers' Ken Kelley lead his team with 25pts.
The Unranked Atlanta Aliens are back in action again this weekend as they will travel to Birmingham Alabama and play the ABA highly Power Ranked Magic City Surge
