No shocking result in a game when Venom (3-1) smashed at home Flight (0-5) 109-83 on Sunday. Cypress V. dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Flight's 36 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Cypress V. had a 41-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Lake Houston F.'s players. It was a great evening for Mario Brown (188) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Isaac Bunn (185, college: Cedar Valley) helped adding 27 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Nate Leach (185-1997, college: Ks Wesleyan) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and guard Joshua Adams (191) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Four Lake Houston F. players scored in double figures. Venom will meet at home E.Houston U. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Flight will play against MC Dragons and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
