Regular Season Round 3: Winnipeg - Niagara 97-71

Date: May 22, 2026
Rather predictable result in Winnipeg where Sea Bears (3-2) smashed River Lions (1-2) 97-71 on Friday. Winnipeg dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to River Lions's 24 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Winnipeg looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Niagara's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Teddy Allen (198-1998, college: NM State) who scored 27 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. His fellow American import guard Trey McGowens (193-2000, college: Nebraska) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Donald Carey (196-1999, college: Maryland) who recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Haitian-Canadian forward Nathan Cayo (201-1997, college: Richmond) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sea Bears will meet Brampton in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. River Lions will play against Montreal (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
