Regular Season Round 15: Niagara - Scarborough 96-81

The game between Top Four teams took place in Niagara. First ranked host River Lions (12-5) defeated second-best Shooting Stars (8-9) 96-81. Niagara outrebounded Scarborough 46-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Niagara looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Khalil Ahmad (191-1996, college: CS Fullerton, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 23 points. British-Canadian guard Kimbal Mackenzie (185-1996, college: Bucknell) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. River Lions' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Terquavion Smith (193-2002, college: NC State) who recorded 22 points and 4 steals and the other American import point guard Anthony Barber (188-1994, college: NC State) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for River Lions. Niagara maintains first place with 12-5 record, which they share with Calgary. Loser Shooting Stars keeps the second position with nine games lost. Niagara will meet at home Montreal (#4) in the next round. Scarborough will play against Brampton in Hamilton and hope to secure a win.
