Regular Season Round 15: Niagara - Brampton 97-79

Rather predictable result in Niagara where first ranked River Lions (12-5) defeated 5th ranked Honey Badgers (4-14) 97-79 on Wednesday. Niagara made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Niagara outrebounded Brampton 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. Niagara looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Khalil Ahmad (191-1996, college: CS Fullerton, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Canadian-DR Congolese power forward Elijah Lufile (201-1997, college: ORU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Marcus Carr (188-1999, college: Texas) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists and Canadian-Vincentian guard Koby McEwen (193-1997, college: Weber St.) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for River Lions. Niagara maintains first place with 12-5 record, which they share with Calgary. Brampton lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Saskatchewan. Niagara will meet at home Montreal (#4) in the next round. Brampton will play against the league's second-placed Scarborough and hope to secure a win.
