Regular Season Round 11: Saskatchewan - Calgary 96-89

There was a small surprise when fifth rankedRattlers (3-10) defeated second-ranked Surge (8-4) in Saskatoon 96-89 on Thursday. Saskatchewan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Nate Pierre-Louis (193-1998, college: Temple) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 5 assists. Guard Jordan Bowden (197-1997, college: Tennessee) accounted for 23 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Forward Greg Brown III (201-2001, college: Texas, agency: MSG) came up with 22 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Jameer Nelson Jr (185-2000, college: TCU) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Calgary in the defeat. Four Saskatchewan and five Calgary players scored in double figures. Surge's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Saskatchewan maintains fifth place with 3-10 record. Loser Surge keeps the second position with four games lost. Saskatchewan will meet at home higher ranked Montreal (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Calgary will play against Brampton in Hamilton and hope to secure a win.
