Regular Season Round 3: Saskatchewan - Niagara 86-88
Date: May 24, 2025
The most exciting game of round 3 in the CEBL took place in Saskatoon. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat ofRattlers (0-3) to River Lions (3-1) 88-86 on Saturday evening. Niagara made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for British-Canadian guard Kimbal Mackenzie (185-1996, college: Bucknell) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Ronald Curry (193-1993, college: JMU) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Nate Pierre-Louis (193-1998, college: Temple) with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the other American import guard Jamir Chaplin (193-2000, college: UALR) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rattlers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. River Lions will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rattlers will play on the road against Niagara (#1) and hope to get finally their first victory.
