(ATLANTA, June 22, 2013) The World Basketball Association Foundation (WBA), feeder league to NBA standouts such as Josh Powell and Jamario Moon, Recently appointed former NBA player, Tree Rollins, as League Commissioner for the 2013 season during a recent owners meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to taking the helm, Tree served as a consultant to the WBA and the current president of the NBRPA Orlando Chapter. Anthony Daniels was appointed Deputy Commissioner.

We felt that with the direction we're moving the WBA, we wanted someone with NBA experienceand relationships that can assist the league in educating our players about the attributes and qualities needed to be successful in sports and life. stated Leroy McMath, Founder of the WBA Foundation, Inc.

Under new management, the WBA 2013 season officially started in June representing teams from Atlanta (GA); Marietta (GA); Conyers (GA); Anderson (SC); and Rome (GA). The WBA playoff starts August 2nd and the championship will be held at 12:30p.m. August 20th at the Philips Arena.

ABOUT THE WBA: The WBA Exposure League was created in 2002 to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to NBA, D-League, KBL, PBL, and international scouts. The purpose of the WBA is to serve as a training ground to develop professional players, coaches, and personnel on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on career development, community involvement, and education.

WBA teams are comprised of talented athletes with a maximum of five years professional experience. The highly respected exposure league has produced and worked with top coaches, such as former Rome Gladiators coach Harold Ellis, who signed to the NBAs Detroit Pistons coaching staff now with Orlando Magic and standout players who made it to the next level, including Kenyon Gamble, who played with the WBAs Court Kings, former Hawks Anthony Grundy, and Kyle Davis of the New Jersey Nets and Jamario Moon.
