Gwinnett Majic lead WBA All-Star selections - Aug 14, 2010

The Gwinnett Majic, who recently defeated the Franklin Knights to win their second straight World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) championship, led the league's all-star selections with five players being honored.
Gwinnett center Benjamin Puckett (6'9''-F-83, agency: NM Services, college: Clayton St.) and guard Javon Randolph (5'10''-G-84, college: Savannah St.) were named First Team All-WBA, along with guard Stefhon Hannah (6'1''-G-85, college: Missouri) of the Marietta Storm and forwards Willie Irick (6'6''-F-84, college: Oklahoma City) (Florida Flight) and Jerrell Houston (6'8''-F-85, college: Tennessee St.) (Franklin Knights).
The Franklin Knights placed a pair of players on the Second Team, with guard Myles Thrash (6'0''-G-77, college: Stillman) and forward Eddie Ard (6'5''-G/F-85, agency: Hart Sports Mngm, college: Lipscomb) being selected. They were joined by guard Trevor Bing (6'2''-G-85) (Florida), forward Lance Perique (6'7''-F-83, college: Georgia St.) (Marietta) and center Marcus Brown (Gwinnett) on the second team.
Gwinnett and Marietta had two players apiece on the Third Team, with guard Parrish Brown (6'1''-G-84, college: Maryland) and center Casey Love (6'9''-C-80, college: Robert Morris) representing the Storm and guard Adrien Borders (6'0''-G-83, college: Wofford) and forward Michael Sloan (6'5''-G/F-84, college: Clayton St.) coming from the Majic. The team was rounded out by the pick of Anthony Wilkins (6'7''-G-80, college: Kent St.) of the Decatur Court Kings.
Gwinnett head coach David Akin was named the league's Coach of the Year and Majic owner/general manager Brandon Williams won the Owner/GM of the Year. The Team of the Year award went to Franklin, which advanced to the WBA championship game in its first season in the league.

Gwinnett Majic Roll to Second Straight WBA Championship - Aug 3, 2010

The Gwinnett Majic steamrolled the Frnklin Knights 133-113, Saturday night at Bogan Park in Buford, Ga., to win their second straight World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) championship.
Gwinnett held a 33-24 lead after the opening quarter, but Franklin outscored the Majic 43-25 in the second period to take a 67-58 lead into the locker room at halftime. Gwinnett came back in the third quarter to tie the game at 91 heading into the final quarter and the Majic took control from there, outscoring Franklin 42-22 to pull away and win the title.
The Majic were led by Benjamin Puckett (6'9''-F-83, agency: NM Services, college: Clayton St.), who finished with a game-high 37 points and 10 rebounds. Adrien Borders (6'0''-G-83, college: Wofford) had 19 points and six rebounds, Michael Sloan (6'5''-G/F-84, college: Clayton St.) finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Marcus Brown pitched in 16 points and seven rebounds and Patrick Shokpeka (6'3''-G-88, college: Armstrong Atlantic) netted 14 points in the victory.
Charles Little (6'6''-F-87, college: Dayton) led Franklin with 27 points. He was followed by Myles Thrash (6'0''-G-77, college: Stillman) (22), Jerrell Houston (6'8''-F-85, college: Tennessee St.) (17) and Maurice Williams (6'2''-G-83, college: Los Medanos JC) (11) as the Knights advanced to the WBA championship game in their first season.
The WBA Exposure League serves as a training ground to develop players on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on exposure, development, community involvement, and most importantly providing an exciting brand of basketball and entertainment. Hundreds of former WBA Players have gone on to play professional basketball all over the world including the D-League and NBA.
