Week three kicks off in WBA with a bang!
June 23, 2013, ATLANTA, GA- The WBA kicked off week 3 with exciting games Friday and Saturday night. The 2012 WBA champs, Upstate Heat, came up short in College Park (Atlanta) falling to league leader the Atlanta Gamers in Friday nights buzzer beater 98 to 97. The Gamers was lead by Ohio State Evan Ravenel with 22 points. Saturday night, the champs bounced back with a 128-114 win over a strong Rome team in Anderson. Roy Brown had 25 points for the Heat and David Lawson had 39 for Rome. In other action, Atlanta Gamers downed Georgia Magic 96 to 89. Evan Ravenel lead all scores with 36. WBA (World Basketball Association Foundation) is an exposure league dedicated to developing, teaching and exposing its players to domestic and international scouts while providing the public with an exciting brand of athletic entertainment.
The WBA consists of 5 teams, The Conyers Court Kings, Atlanta Gamers, Georgia Magic, Upstate Heat, and the Rome Gladiators. Games are played every Friday and Saturday leading up to the end of the regular season on July 27th. The playoffs begin Friday, August 2nd and the season champions will be crowned at Phillips Arena August 20th at 12:30 p.m. in a double header with the Atlanta Dreams!
