WBA SEASON KICKED OFF OVER THE WEEKEND
5 teams to compete in exposure league's 11th season
June 16, 2013, ATLANTA, GA-With the NBA season coming to a close, many basketball fanatics are a bit weary at the fact that they will not be able to see their favorite pro ballers competing against one another. However, there is nothing to fear because the WBA is here! The popular feeder league kicked off their upcoming 2013 season this past weekend. The WBA (World Basketball Association) is an exposure league dedicated to developing, teaching and exposing its players to domestic and international scouts while providing the public with an exciting brand of athletic entertainment.
The WBA consists of 5 teams, The Conyers Court Kings, Atlanta Gamers, Georgia Majic, Upstate Heat, and the Rome Gladiators. Games are played every Friday and Saturday leading up to the end of the regular season on July 27th. The playoffs begin Friday, August 2nd and the season champions will be crowned the following day after the final game. The Upstate Heat are the defending champions.
All of these teams compete against each other for the greater good of the community and the betterment of the players and coaching staff. The league is sponsored by Streetz 94.5, Fairfield Inn, Chick-fil-A, Let's move Campaign and The Mixtape Hero.
