Regular Season Round 10: Brampton - Scarborough 98-96

A very close game took place in Hamilton between Honey Badgers and Shooting Stars. Fourth ranked Honey Badgers (4-8) got a very close home victory over much higher ranked Shooting Stars (6-5). Honey Badgers managed to escape with a 2-point win 98-96 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shooting Stars. Brampton made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Scarborough turnovers. Strangely Scarborough outrebounded Brampton 45-31 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Elijah Mitrou-Long (185-1996, college: UNLV) scored 20 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Zane Waterman (203-1995, college: Manhattan) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Anthony Barber (188-1994, college: NC State) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Jalen Adaway (196-1998, college: St.Bonaventure) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Brampton moved-up to third place. Defending champion Scarborough keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Calgary and Winnipeg. Brampton will meet at home Calgary (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Scarborough will have a break next round.
