Very expected game in Saskatoon where 5th rankedRattlers (5-6) were defeated by first ranked River Lions (7-4) 94-87 on Saturday. Niagara looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Khalil-Ullah Ahmad (191-1996, college: CS Fullerton) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard TJ Lall (198-1996, college: Carleton) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. River Lions' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Canadian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Cody John (190-1996, college: Weber St.) responded with 23 points and American forward Bryson Williams (203-1998, college: Texas Tech) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Niagara and five Saskatchewan players scored in double figures. Niagara maintains first position with 7-4 record. Saskatchewan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. Niagara will meet at home Calgary (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Saskatchewan will play against the league's leader Edmonton and hope to secure a win.
