Regular Season Round 8: Saskatchewan - Calgary 77-105

Date: June 20, 2024
There was a minor upset when 3rd ranked Rattlers (5-5) were smashed by fifth ranked Surge (4-5) in Saskatoon 105-77 on Thursday. Calgary outrebounded Saskatchewan 42-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Calgary shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by American point guard Corey Davis (186-1997, college: Houston) who scored that evening 25 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Sean Miller-Moore (193-1998, college: GCU) supported him with 26 points and 8 assists. Even 22 points and 5 assists by American Jalen Harris (196-1998, college: Nevada) did not help to save the game for Saskatchewan. His fellow American import forward Bryson Williams (203-1998, college: Texas Tech) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Calgary maintains fifth position with 4-5 record. Saskatchewan lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Winnipeg. Calgary will meet league's second-placed Edmonton on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Saskatchewan will play against Winnipeg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
